A visit from ZooLab brought an exciting hands on learning experience to KSA this week. Pupils had the chance to meet a fascinating range of creatures, including a tarantula, snake, hissing cockroach, giant African land snail, and a millipede. The workshop gave students the opportunity to see these animals up close while learning about their habitats, adaptations, and how we have used these in technology. Many were surprised by how calm and gentle the animals were, especially the snake, which quickly became a favourite. The hissing cockroach sparked plenty of curiosity as students listened for its distinctive sound and the giant snail impressed everyone with its size and slime. ZooLab’s handler shared engaging facts on Biomimicry and Bioengineering and encouraged thoughtful questions throughout the session. It was a memorable visit that helped build confidence, spark curiosity, and deepen pupils’ understanding of living organisms.
